fuel prices
FUELtrac monitors retail (pump) fuel prices throughout Australia. With over 130 locations to choose from, and historical data available for a number of years, we provide one of the most comprehensive libraries of fuel prices in Australia.
Some of our information is available free of charge, while other information listed below is chargeable. Note that FUELtrac retains all rights and copyright to all data.
1. Petrol Discount Cycles
Pricing discount cycles are common in most metropolitan areas of Australia, and in some larger regional areas. The cheapest day to buy fuel in most metropolitan areas is currently Friday or Saturday, with savings of between 10-15 cpl available.

2. Historical Petrol Prices
Petrol has risen sharply over the past several years with record international crude prices, together with high refining margins being achieved by the major oil companies throughout the world.
In partership with the motoring bodies, FUELtrac publishes average monthly petrol prices back to 1998. These are available free of charge from the AAA website, and can be saved in MS Excel format.
3. The Rise & Rise Of Alternative Fuels
With record prices for fossil fuels, the market is now coming to terms with alternative fuels such as Ethanol Blends and Bio-Diesel. New 'eco-friendly' manufacturers are gearing up to meet the Federal Government target of 350 mega litres of 'alternate fuels' by 2010.
